NALS

NALS

A personalized audio system designed to help you change the patterns that keep getting in the way.

Recorded in your own voice.

One nighttime track and one daily track — a complete system, not just one piece of it.

Built by Matthew F. Stevens, who spent two years rewiring his own patterns before building the system that does it for you.

Become who you already know you can be.

Individualized, not idealized

We all have an ideal version of ourselves. The challenge isn’t wanting to get there — it’s the day-to-day work of becoming that person. If you’re stuck, it’s not because you’re lazy. It’s not because you’re unmotivated. Most of us are carrying so much day-to-day stress and anxiety that the path forward looks impossible from where we’re standing.

It’s not. One moment at a time. One choice at a time. One night at a time.

Motivation will fade — it always does. Lasting change doesn’t come from motivation. It comes from neuroplasticity: your brain’s ability to rewire itself through daily, repetitive action. That’s the mechanism. Not willpower. Not a single decision. Repetition.

Eighteen years ago, I tried to get on a roller coaster with my daughter and I couldn’t fit. I weighed close to 500 pounds that day. Motivation is what got me started — but rewiring my thoughts and habits, day after day, is what made it stick. That same child is 24 now. I haven’t seen 500 pounds since.

Why NALS uses audio

NALS uses two audio tracks rather than relying on worksheets or willpower alone. The first is a pre-sleep track, built around a set of questions designed to engage your subconscious as you fall asleep. It draws loosely on polyvagal theory, a framework suggesting the vagus nerve — believed to play a role in your nervous system’s calm-down response — may respond to certain auditory cues, and some research suggests the period right before sleep may be a particularly receptive window for reinforcing new patterns. The second is a daily track, designed to be woven into your actual daily activities — helping you bring who you’re working to become into ordinary, everyday tasks, rather than treating change as something separate from real life. Together, both tracks are built around the same idea: that timing and repetition play a role in how patterns form, and that pairing consistent audio with both your sleep and your waking day is one part of a broader approach to building new habits — alongside effort, not instead of it.

Why this exists

Necessity is the mother of all invention. There was a woman I deeply cared about, and I watched her fight internal beliefs that were destroying her from the inside. I wanted to help — so I went looking for a way to.

What I found was bigger than I expected. I realized I had the same problem. So did so many people around me. We knew we wanted to make different choices — and we kept doing the thing that wasn’t beneficial to us anyway. Like so many people, I kept facing the same scenario over and over, forced to ask myself: how and why do I keep ending up here?

I’d spent almost two decades in social services before this. So I went back through everything I could recall — every lesson I’d ever learned, from Dr. Bessel van der Kolk to Dr. Bruce Perry — and layered it with every other training and experience I’d had. That’s how NALS was born.

Day after day, I started noticing changes — in myself, and in the people I loved. And somewhere along the way, I realized how much of what was driving my own behavior and decisions had been coming from a dark place I hadn’t fully named until then.

What you get

$497 gets you one fully personalized audio system, built around one focus area you choose: Financial Security, Regulation, Personal Growth, or Relationships. Every system includes both a nighttime track and a daily track, so the same focus area follows you from how you fall asleep to how you move through your day.

  • A nighttime track and a daily track, both fully personalized to the one focus area you pick
  • Recorded in your own voice, so what you hear sounds like you — not a stranger reading a script at you

This isn’t a bundle of all four — it’s real, individual attention on the one area you’re working on right now. The other three are there when you’re ready for them, as separate purchases down the line, not something we try to fix all at once.

  3. Your system is built — your personalized audio is created around your specific focus, recorded in your own voice.
  4. Listen nightly and daily — your nighttime and daily tracks become part of the routine you already have.
  5. Track what changes — you notice what shifts in the pattern you’re working on, at your own pace.

In their words

David came to NALS drinking every night, disconnected from the habits and relationships that mattered most to him. Six weeks later, everything changed.

“Prior to NALS I was drinking every night and incredibly introverted. After six weeks I grounded myself, stopped drinking, and built habits that are better for me — at work and in my personal life.”

Why I don’t work with everyone

Every one of these is built by hand, specifically for the person listening to it — that takes real time, per person. That’s why I only take on 12 people a month. I’d rather do fewer of these well than a lot of them badly. If that means a wait, that’s the point, not a flaw.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I receive?

One fully personalized audio system built around a single focus area you choose — Financial Security, Regulation, Personal Growth, or Relationships. It includes two tracks: a nighttime track and a daily track, both created from what you share during intake and recorded in your own voice.

How is my audio created?

After your intake conversation, I build your system by hand around what you shared about how you think, live, and experience the problem — then generate the audio using voice-cloning technology so it’s recorded in your own voice, not a stranger’s.

Why is it recorded in my own voice?

Hearing your own voice makes the material feel like it’s coming from you, not being said at you. That’s the point — this isn’t a stranger reading a script, it’s you talking to yourself.

How often do I listen, and when?

The nighttime track is meant for right before sleep; the daily track is built to fit into your existing routine, whenever works for you. There’s no rigid schedule beyond that — just consistency.

What happens after I purchase?

You complete a short intake, your system gets built around what you shared, and then you receive both tracks to start listening to. (See “What happens after you enroll” above for the full walkthrough.)

Can I change my focus area later?

Your system is built around the one focus area you choose. If you want to work on a different area later, that’s a separate system built from a new intake — not an edit to what you already have.

Is this therapy?

No. NALS isn’t therapy, counseling, or a substitute for professional mental health care. It’s a personalized audio system built around daily patterns and habits. If you’re dealing with a clinical condition, please work with a licensed professional.

Is this meditation?

Not exactly. It doesn’t ask you to sit still or clear your mind. The audio is built around your specific focus area and your own voice, designed to fit into your existing routine rather than requiring a separate practice.

Is this right for everyone?

It’s built for people ready to work on something specific and consistent, not a general wellness product for everyone. I only take on 12 people a month, in part so I can be honest with you if I don’t think it’s a fit.

Why do you only take 12 clients a month?

Every system is hand-built, specifically for the person listening to it — that takes real time per person. Capping it at 12 a month means I can actually give each one the attention it needs, rather than spreading myself too thin.

If this sounds like what you need, let’s get started.

You’re worth it. You’re worth the effort.
